oh what a week!

Oh What a Week!

I have just endured the worst ice storm I have ever seen. I could not believe how beautiful it was and yet so destructive. I lost both power and water for six days. That meant a miserable week for me and my son. We slept in our clothes and played card games by the candle lights. So this week was filled with good and bad. I enjoyed having to be off the computer in most every way. No chatting, no game playing, no doing any work. I enjoyed spending time with my son that we would have most likely spent in different rooms doing our usual stuff. I enjoyed looking at the ice on the trees.

I did not enjoy no heat, no water(no bathroom), and eating only food that was cold. Yes even I got tired of cookies and candy. It was the worst the last few days when we could see our breath and the boredom of sitting in the dark with nothing to do had truly sunk in.

I have discovered to that all the food we tried to save by keeping it in the snow is destroyed so now the food will have to be bought all over again.

So today I can say it is nice to have electricity back, it is nice to have water back and most of all it is nice to wear my pajamas again. Sleeping in my clothes was one of the most difficult things I had to endure. I also am finding it pleasurable to return to the internet. Yes I did put that last.
