You took time and planned it well, but how do you get people to find it and reach your goal as a writer of getting them to read it?

Have you heard the old adage, “Work smarter, not harder”, this really applies if you have chosen to use article marketing as a form to drive traffic to your website.

There is one gigantic article marketing service called Ezine articles that is without a doubt the best way to bring traffic to your own site or an affiliate site.

Basically what happens is that you submit an article that is well written and full of unique content to Ezine Articles and with the power of their relationship with google, you increase your traffic.

The problem then is you need to also submit this article to other places that will drive more traffic to your site. It would be almost impossible to manually submit your articles especially if you want to be a prolific writer submitting up into the thousands of articles.

Most writers that use article marketing to increase traffic to their sites, will write 2-5 articles every week to different article submission sites. Now that does not sound to bad but if you have 10-20-50 sites then you can see where that could take over your life.

If you are doing it manually or using an article submitter, the basic steps do not change.

First you must pick a article base to join.

Register by filling out an online form

Use a good email because they will send a confirmation

Click the confirmation link and you are now registered

Pretty simple right? Now just go to the article site sign in with your log in information of name and password. You can now add a pen name to write under or use your own name and start submitting.

Article submitter sites and article submitting software programs are out there available for you to use. There are different qualities, features, usability and cost and you need to do your homework to get the right one.

Some will cause nothing but grief for a variety of reasons, the biggest being that it might end up sending your articles in a spammy way and thus get you banned from the sites you want to be part of.

Some Article Submitters and software

Article Wizard

Article Demon

Article Marketing Robot

Article Submitter

Submit Eaze

My Article Submitter

Article Submitter Gold

Article Money

My Pro Article

Most will offer a free download for a trial use with a limit on how many articles or how many days you can use it. They do this so you will see if the program works for you.

If you are writing articles and submitting them manually, then it is probably time to invest a little money and find an article submission service or software that will work for you. Your quality articles submitted to hundreds of sites is the key to being successful. It will save you a massive amount of time and in the end time is money.

If you are not using an article submitter, you may very well be spending more than you are making. Quality articles quickly submitted to hundreds of submit sites is the key to being successful. There is a way to accomplish this. Yes, You need an article submitter

Here we discuss the ease of writing an article as a list. Everyone loves lists. Top ten, Do these, Make these and you capture their attention.

Most people are afraid to write, and more afraid to write something that a lot of people might read. Learn to write a top list, type of article and you will find that people enjoy reading them.

If you have never written an article for a blog or website then this is probably the easiest one to start with.

First you need to chose a topic that you want to write about. Research that topic with google keyword tool. The phrase you want to use as your keyword phrase will be the one that people type into a search engine like Google to find your article. Using the tool you should choose a topic that has 3000 searches a month at least.

Always run through your mind the question of, “what would I type in to find this article.”

The following list is ideas of Wording for writing a list article.
Top ten reasons

Top five answers

Top ten ways to “do something”

10 simple ideas for

3 new techniques for

Ten secrets to

So for example purposes let us say you have a blog and you want to write about getting traffic to it. You choose the keyword phrase of, “get blog traffic”

Follow these six steps.
1. Vitally important to write a good grabbing title. Curiosity is a good thing to arouse in someone reading.

Example titles

Ten easy ways to get traffic to your blog

Ten Secret steps to get traffic to your blog

Ten Little known ways to get traffic to your blog

Drive traffic to your blog using ten easy steps

2. Write the introduction in one to two sentences that describe to the reader what they will learn from this article. A good way to begin is with a question.
“Do you have trouble getting people to come and read your blog? If so then then follow along as you learn ten of the best ones here.”

3. Make sure to use your keyword phrase once or twice as you sell to your reader what you want them to know: “You are only a few short steps away from getting traffic to your blog.”

4. This is where you create white space with a numbered or bulleted list and a sentence of explanation

Write Articles and submit to article directories – Article Marketing is the best, easiest and free way to get people to your blog…They simply follow the link in your resource box.
Free ads – Go to freeads.com…
Exchange links – Find high traffic blogs and link with them

5. Write the conclusion – Short and concise paragraph making sure to use your keyword phrase again:
In order to get traffic to your blog you need to use more than one technique. Some ways are easier than others, just find one that you will like.

6. Bio Box, Author Box, Resource Box – This is where you will put a link to a page on your blog that you want people to go to. This is not the place to talk about yourself but is a place to share why they should read your stuff: Learn more ways to get traffic to your blog by visiting…

Learn that the money is in the follow up.

This article is about the follow up. Would you spend your whole advertising budget on one ad that will show on television one time?

I certainly believe the answer to that is no and I am sure that you would not do it either. Why? Because you know that someone seeing that add only once probably would not buy what you were selling.

It is estimated that a person needs to see your ad 3- 20 times to trust you and make contact. So then why do we spend our time and our dollars sending something out only one time?

Came up with these reasons:

People just do not know they need to do it.

People do not want to feel they are nagging someone they want to communicate with

People think it is boring to repeat something over and over

People think of all the junk they read and do not want people to feel that way

The following was written in 1885 by a London businessman “Thomas Smith”, when he wrote a guide called Successful Advertising in 1885.

The process a consumer goes through when encouraged to purchase from an ad.

1 – The first time a man looks at an advertisement, he does not see it.

2 – The second time, he does not notice it.

3 – The third time, he is conscious of its existence.

4 – The fourth time, he faintly remembers having seen it before.

5 – The fifth time, he reads it.

6 – The sixth time, he turns up his nose at it.

7 – The seventh time, he reads it through and says, “Oh brother!”

8 – The eighth time, he says, ”Here’s that confounded thing again!”

9 – The ninth time, he wonders if it amounts to anything.

10 -The tenth time, he asks his neighbor if he has tried it.

11 -The eleventh time, he wonders how the advertiser makes it pay.

12 -The twelfth time, he thinks it must be a good thing.

13 -The thirteenth time, he thinks perhaps it might be worth something.

14 The fourteenth time, he remembers wanting such a thing a long time.

15 The fifteenth time, he is tantalized because he cannot afford to buy it.

16 -The sixteenth time, he thinks he will buy it some day.

17 -The seventeenth time, he makes a memorandum to buy it.

18 -The eighteenth time, he swears at his poverty.

19 -The nineteenth time, he counts his money carefully.

20 -The twentieth time he sees the ad, he buys what it is offering.

The truth of this dilema is this – Make Your Money in the Follow Up!

So you may be asking why does repeating a message work? It is pretty simple when you look into the statistics of advertising.

“The average American is exposed to about 3000 advertising messages a day, and globally corporations spend over $620 billion each year to make their products seem desirable and to get us to buy them.”
Union of Concerned Scientists Website
http://www.ucsusa.org/publications/guide.ch1.html

You must in order to make a relationship and to get your message out there, become part of that statistic. You have to repeatedly put your message out for them to read or hear if you want them to respond.

Ways to Get Your Message Out There:

If you have a newsletter, make sure that you are sending it out weekly

Send many emails to promote a product or event

Do teleseminars

Do videos

Write Articles

Follow up on calls and mailings

Do not advertise huge ads spending most of your money

Advertise small ads more frequently

If you get nothing else from this article, the key point to rememeber is that many advertising and marketing experts who spend lots of time and money testing strategies say that repetition is the key.

Put aside your fears and think of it in a new light. Sending the same message over and over may not be the best way, but it is better than doing it once. Take action and you will see profit.

WordPress has a built in tool for using a shortcut code to break your long message up.

Have you ever gone to a website that you picked from Google and it takes forever to load? Then when it finally loads it just seems to go on and on? People tend to enjoy to read in small blocks of information.

What this means to you is that if your post is too long, then you need to shorten it, split it into different posts or do something called paginate.

If you are using WordPress blog platform then you like millions of others has chosen the best platform around and they have, though it is little known, a way to send parts of your long posts to the next page and at the bottom it lists page numbers for the person to click on.

The reason this bit of information is not readily talked about especially by WordPress, is that originally WordPress was created for blogging, which are normally short, easy to load posts.

Whatever way you decide to split up your post, there are options and for this one it is really simple.

Go to Your admin panel of the WordPress site you are using

Go to a post that is written or write up a new post and where it says visual/html

Choose the html.

Wherever you want your post to be split and moved to the next page put the following short code in.

Short code: Place the following code where you want the page breaks to be. You post the whole article on one post or page then use the break short code.
<!–nextpage–>

To get a real time example of this pagination in action, check out this. Look in the right bottom just below recent posts and there will be numbers from 1-5 those are the pages wp created to break up the length of the article.

This entails research and the primary research should be asking the included 22 questions.

It is important when you start to write copy that you know as much as you can. This does not mean simply to read some research materials or ask around.

To be a successful copywriter you must get into the heads of people.

The best place to begin is with your client. They truly are the only ones that really know their own business and more than that they know their customers.

The best way to gather the information you will need is to follow a simple form that has 22 questions. Most of your marketing and creative agencies will use this.

Start with your clients. They know their business and their customers better than you do. (If they don’t, they should. You can help them learn more.)

The following is 22 questions that an ad executive came up with:

1. What is the description of the piece(s)? (Ad, Web site, brochure, radio script, direct mail, etc.)

2. What is the marketing focus? (What products or services are we telling about?)

3. What is the communications problem that the piece(s) must solve? (Awareness, positioning or repositioning, product introduction, category introduction, etc.)

4. Who is the audience? (Demographics, title, function, responsibility, etc.)

5. What is their point of view about the product, service, category?

6. Who is the secondary audience(s), if any?

7. What business problems or issues does the product(s)/service(s) solve for the audience(s)? (Efficiency issues, profitability issues, operations issues, technology issues, etc.)

8. What effect do we want the piece(s) to have on the target audience(s)? (Purchase, phone call, visit Web site, request more information, increase their awareness, etc.)

9. What can we offer to achieve the desired response? (Demos, situation evaluation, sales collateral, personal visit, white paper, etc.)

10. What is the single essential message we must tell the target audience(s) to achieve the desired effect? (Be as concise as possible.)

11. What evidence is there to support our claims? (Features and benefits, testimonials, case studies, etc.)

12. Can anyone else make a similar promise?

13. Are there any technology issues to address? (Compatibility, operating systems, hardware requirements, etc.)

14. What specific industry issues must be addressed? (Trends, etc.)

15. Are there any industry, product or competitive issues to be avoided?

16. What tone should the piece employ? (Hardhitting/serious, educational/informative, humorous, etc.)

17. What do you like about your current piece(s)? (Look and feel, tone, messaging, functionality, etc.)

18. What don’t you like about your current piece(s)? (Look and feel, tone, messaging, functionality, etc.)

19. What overall impressions (look and feel, etc.) would you like the piece(s) to make?

20. Will this piece(s) be used with any other pieces? (proposals, collateral, letters, etc.)

21. How will the piece(s) be used (online, leave behind, trade shows, mailed, etc.) and at what point in the sales cycle?

22. Any other comments?

By Neil Sagebiel

Of course it is lengthy and detailed and some of your clients might balk at having to think this through but just remind them how important it is.

Three ways to get the information

Ask the client to fill out the form

Fill out the form yourself

Fill it out during an interview with the client.

After all the research is done, you are now ready to write some great copy!
